Many of our personnel continue supporting Defence environments after military service, applying real-world Defence knowledge and lived experience across complex consulting and capability-focused roles.

 

More than 60% of our Defence workforce are veterans, reflecting our strong connection to the Defence community and ongoing commitment to veteran employment and transition pathways.

 

We understand the transition from military service into industry because many within our organisation have made that transition themselves. Our approach is practical, supportive and grounded in lived Defence experience rather than corporate process alone.

At Blackhawk Logistics, we are proud to stand alongside Defence veterans

and recognise the depth of experience they bring to our industry.

​

Alex brings more than two decades of operational, technical and leadership experience

across the Australian Army, Special Forces and Defence industry.

 

He began his military career in the Royal Australian Artillery, progressing from Gunner

to Detachment Commander before deploying to Timor-Leste. He later transitioned into

Special Forces as a Joint Terminal Attack Controller, completing multiple operational

deployments to the Middle East in support of Special Operations Task Groups and serving on senior Close Personal Protection duties.

 

Beyond his operational service, Alex led JTAC training and certification, instructed across multiple courses and represented Defence in multinational programs. He is also an Invictus Games competitor and adaptive sports coach, continuing to support the veteran community through service and mentorship.

 

Today, Alex brings his operational experience into Defence industry, working across capability, compliance and program delivery while continuing postgraduate studies in program management.

His operational credibility, technical expertise and commitment to supporting others reflect the values and culture we continue to build at Blackhawk Logistics.

We are privileged to work with Mauricio, who brings more than 41 years of

experience supporting Defence and veteran communities.

​

Mauricio began his career with the Royal Australian Air Force at just 16 years of

age as an aircraft technician, working on Hercules and Orion aircraft. He later

commissioned as a Logistics Officer, serving across a range of operational and capability

roles. Over four decades, he has built a career defined by operational service, leadership, and an unwavering commitment to Defence outcomes.

Today, as a Senior Consultant with Blackhawk Logistics, Mauricio continues to make a meaningful impact; supporting Defence capability while providing valuable guidance, insight, and mentorship to veterans and transitioning service personnel as they move into civilian Defence industry careers.

​

His professionalism, operational expertise, and commitment to supporting others reflect the values and culture we continue to build at Blackhawk Logistics.
